An intriguing blend of old vine Cinsault and younger Carignan (with small additions of co-planted Aramon) from Tom Gauthier & Miha Trifa in the Languedoc. Two passionate vigneron eccentrics working together out of a converted garage in Bédarieux, handcrafting singular expressions with fruit taken from biodynamic plots on clay-limestone around the foothills of their hometown. In the glass, plush Cinsault aromas of blackcurrant fruit mingles with earthy and velvety dark-fruited notes, where the addition of whole bunch Carignan provides structure and a good lick of acidity on the finish. Complex and unconventional in style on one hand, well-balanced with plenty of finesse on the other. Allez!
