Founded by a group of friends originally from the beer industry, the team behind Cantina Indigeno work 22 acres of land around the picturesque Teramo, situated between the highest mountains of the Apennines and the Adriatic coast.Their mission of bringing life back into abandoned vineyards is at the heart of what they do, celebrating the results of an unique terroir. Folk is a blend of native grape varieties in Abruzzo, the influence of the 300m high vineyards brings ripe fruits with freshness. Apricot, peach and a nice amount of tannin.

Charalaboglou • Koiniariko in Anthesis • 2021 • Koiniariko • Serres, Greece  • Red

A meticulously crafted red wine made from 100% hand-picked, organic, and dry-farmed Koiniariko grapes from the Dessi vineyard in PGI Serres. The 20-year-old vines produce late-ripening fruit, harvested in late September. After a 5-day cold soak, the wine undergoes spontaneous fermentation with gentle hand plunging. Post-fermentation, the wine remains on the skins for two weeks before aging for 10 months in French oak barriques (33% new). The result is a medium-bodied wine with aromas of sweet spices, cracked pepper, and wild strawberries, balanced by elegant tannins and flavors of black cherries.
