Orange de Noirs, 2018 - Costador
Mostly Sumoil, harvested early by Joan so the local wild boars don't get to it first. It's vibrant colour comes from a small amount of the skins being added back into the juice or a super light extraction before going into amphora for fermentation, and then being aged in oak.
Primario, 2019 - Atelier
Perfect picnic wine. A great example of the beauty of orange wine made in Slovenia. 100% Rebula which presents a terroir driven, elegant wine with a complexity of salinity, mandarin notes and fine tannin from around 3 days on skin, 12 month on fine lees. Orange wine heaven if you ask me.
Carantina, 2019 - Monteforche
Clean salt and smoke - you can tell the Garganega vines of Carantina are planted in volcanic soil. Much deeper than wines typical for the grape, and definitely worth a try if you're a fan of oranges and Italians.
