This charming Merlot has a real sense of place. Produced from twenty-year-old vines, the hand-picked grapes are carbonically macerated, after which they spend ten months ageing in old barrels. The wine needs a little time to open up, but once it has, it’s a really generous pour full of the spirit of Southern France, with earthy, spicy notes playing off rich fruit in plum and black fig.
