Les Horées Bourgogne Aligoté "En Coulezain" 2023
More structured and serious than previous vintages, this wine demonstrates how Aligoté is transcending its reputation as a simple aperitif wine. It’s produced from a 0.37 hectare, south-east facing plot in Volnay, with the vines rooted in a deep, grey marl soil, and ageing taking place in 350-liter old oak barrels for 6 months, and one third of the wine produced with five days of skin-contact. There’s crisp green apple and pear flavours alongside delicate white flowers and a distinctly saline finish.
