Epic Chenin alert! 2018 is the first vintage from Les Jardin de la Martiniere after taking over in the vineyard from enigmatic Anjou winemaker, Xavier Caillard, in the same year. Planted on limestone and clay soils north-east of Brissac-Loire-Aubance, the fruit was hand-harvested in two stages, directly pressed in whole bunches before undergoing fermentation in fibreglass and élévage in barriques for two years. After two years, the wine was assembled in fibreglass for another 12 months of ageing before bottling in 2021. An incredibly refined and mesmerising expression of Chenin Blanc that is already drinking well, but will only improve with time in the cellar. Limited availability.
