Czech wines are starting to gain more recognition, and this compelling red tells you why. Produced from Blaufränkisch grapes – known in Czech as Frankova – the wine is fermented with native yeasts and aged for 10 months in large acacia barrels made near to the vineyards with local acacia wood. The wine is silky smooth, with lots of expressive fruit in cherry and blackberry, with satisfying hints of black pepper and cinnamon too.
