Generous, fragrant but fine-boned pinot from a site just below the Premier Cru areas of Beaune. The wine was produced by Catharina Sadde, a young winemaker with one of the most impressive CVs in Burgundy, including a stint at Domaine de la Romanée Conti – who here uses 50% whole clusters, ambient yeast fermentation in barrels and stainless steel tanks, followed by 12 months ageing in used barrels, and minimum SO2 added only after malolactic fermentation or before bottling. Bright acids and aromas of orange peel, warm spices, and juicy red berries make for a really moreish Pinot.
