Made from vines grown on slate and Leitha limestone, one of Altenburger’s greatest terroirs, this rare wine has now reached an ideal level of maturity. The Blaufränkisch grapes were fermented in an open fermentation rack and then aged in a 500-liter barrel for over 20 months. This is sublime Blaufränkisch with stunning polish, an almost weightless texture, a complex aroma profile including ripe cherry, wild berries, licorice, leather and forest floor.
