Deep-fruited and lightly sparkling Lambrusco made from the ancient Sgavetta grape, farmed organic by brothers Alberto and Giovanni Masini at their family estate near Reggio Emilia. A fun and aptly Summer red for the BBQ season with lifted notes of cherry fruit, leather and savoury herbs, all kept in check by a tart acid line and rustic tannins. The grapes undergo 20 days of maceration on skins in amphora before pressing, whereupon the grape must is blended back together with the base wine at bottling. Here, it keeps fermenting with natural yeasts for 9 months which results in a natural carbonation. Least to say, a wine of rustic charm and pleasure for sunny afternoons at the dinner table.
