Super fresh Gamay with ripe raspberry and mineral notes. The southwest-facing vines – planted in 1935 and 1972 – are located in Beaujeu in the southern Beaujolais, and they grow on granite and clay-limestone soils, with the grapes undergoing whole cluster semi-carbonic maceration in wooden and stainless steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation in tanks, ageing for 10 months in 228L and 350L barrels, and bottling without filtration and fining, with miniscule levels of sulphur added, if at all. With its juicy, vivid fruits and insatiable energy, this is everything that’s good about Beaujolais.
