A powerful and defined Chardonnay planted on red clay and quartz from new Cote d’Auvergne vigneron, Henri Chauvet. Dry and crystalline pale gold in the glass with expressive aromas of yellow and orange citrus peel, leading to a palette carried by vibrant acidity and rich, mineral-tinged fruit and a striking finish. Harvested by hand in mid-October, the grapes (in parts affected by noble rot!) were pressed over night and left to rest in old 400L and 228L barrels for a year with only 2g of added sulphur before bottling. Settling down in Boudes after a few years of work for some of Rhone Valley’s top-tier winemakers under his belt, Henri is unquestionably a vigneron with a bright and promising future ahead!
