September Edition Case
Domaine de la Loue | Catherine Hannoun | La Bulle Bleue | Chardonnay | 2019 | Sparkling
Traditional Method Sparkling (like champagne), Chardonnay from vines up to 60 years old harvested in 2016, elevage in old barrels for 24 months, secondary fermentation in bottle in July 2018. Really elegant.
Domaine Ratapoil | Raphaël Monnier | L’Ingenu | Pinot Noir | 2018 | Red
Pinot Noir from Molamboz, elevage for one year in stainless steel. A warmer vintage, but much freshness preserved in the wine. Has a wonderful balance of fruit and earthy notes that make for a really interesting pinot.
Les Marnes Blanches | Pauline & Géraud Fromont | Les Molates | Chardonnay | 2018 | White
An assemblage of different parcels on marl and limestone soils in Gevingey, 35yo vines on average, facing west. Vinified and aged in foudres with no bâtonnage, the wine was bottled in July the following year. This is a very well-balanced wine, with zesty lemony fruit and is the first of the Marnes Blanches chardonnays to open out.
Domaine des Bodines | Alexis + Emilie Porteret | Trousseau | 2018 | Red
Clay-limestone. Manual harvest, mixture of destemmed and whole bunches. Maceration for a month and a half. Fermentation in fibre glass vats. Indigenous yeast.
Domaine de la Loue | Catherine Hannoun | Savagnin | Chardonnay | 2017 | White
Savagnin 2017 - Savagnin from Pupillin planted on grey marls. Direct press, 2 year elevage 2/3 in old barrels, 1/3 in stainless steel. This is taut, saline and mineral with a driving acidity.
