G R A P E:
1. Folias de Baco, “UIVO Vinho Branco Moscatel Galego”
Fun and linear example of moscatel without skin contact. Smells like a bed of psychedelic spring flowers and a bowl of freshly cut tropical fruits. Tastes like lychee, pineapple and mango. Slightly salty with a light, crisp body, and a touch of residual sugar that only enhances the fruit. A charming, bewitching wine to drink, cold, on the stoop.
2. Bourgogne Blanc, Sylvain Bzikot
Clean and fresh on the palate, the Bourgogne shows Puligny-like characters of apples, spiced pears, white flowers and stony mineral notes in the long finish. Somewhat more elegant and finessed than Puligny, almost akin to Chablis Grand Cru, and all for a significantly more modest price.
