Like in Burgundy and Jura, Werlitsch’s Chardonnay is grown on soils rich in limestone and clay, but it speaks its own language altogether. The grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts in oak vats, followed by 24 months ageing in the same vessels, and bottling without filtration, fining, or added sulphites. Striking finesse, mineral vivacity and saline freshness, with enticing aromas of orange peel, almond, vanilla bean and raw honey.
