Chiroubles, 2020 - Frédéric Cossard
When Frederic Cossard and Damien Coquelet make a Burgundian Gamay together, it’s hard not to take notice, especially when the grapes are picked from a hundred year old parcel 400m above sea level. Whole bunch maceration from vines, 9 months resting in concrete egg. Light, effervescent, and deliciously accomplished. Will also age spectacularly well.
Rosso Trilli, 2020 - Gazzetta
Sour cherry meets blood orange, an unbelievably moorish wine. Patrick Campbell of Brawn, and now Lyles initially introduced us to last year's vintage, which we (and you) loved. This year we had the pleasure of tasting it with the winemaker, Trish of Gazetta. She described it as a wine that sits within the threshold between a rosato (rosé) and rosso (red), and that seasonally this is the perfect time to release it. As blossom starts to fill the trees, a less weightier, lighter red/rosé is welcomed. We recommend a minimum of two per sitting as it disappears very quickly.
Metamorphika Trepat 100% Amphorae, 2018 - Costador
This wine’s spirit animal is the wise old mountain goat. Trepat is an indigenous Catalonian grape, and in this case, grown at particularly high elevation, meaning Joan is able to make a wine which is incredibly ripe and mature, with the perfect level of acidity and balance. 3 month partially destemmed grape maceration. Vegan friendly and gluten free.
